Low intensity heaters have an enclosed flame. In order to produce heat a burner box triggers a mix of air and gas. A fan forces the air and gas mixture through tubing. The tube emits heat energy from the gas onto reflectors, which direct the warmth onto the floor. The objects in the direct line of the reflected heat warm the space to a comfortable level. This kind of heat starts at the ground level instead of the ceiling to create heat in the space.

If your warehouse space uses forced heat, each time someone opens a door the heat goes out. The system must start all over heating the space. With infrared heat, the heated floor acts the same way a reservoir does. It retains extra heat and will continue to heat the space until the heat lost by the open door is marginalized. This is a real benefit for industrial and commercial businesses that have loading docks in regular use.

There are many benefits from this type of heating, not the least of which is the cost savings. This type of heater is up to fifty percent more cost effective than the forced air variety. They are cleaner and quieter and don't blow dust and debris around like the ones that rely on blowers. These heaters have zoned capabilities that can function as a unit or independently.

Like all heating systems safety precautions must be taken when they are use. Objects that have lower temperature ratings have to be kept at a safe distance. Gas and electrical lines, lighting, and parked cars have to be shielded.
